I don’t know if I’m more disappointed that the White House has to use their website for political smackdowns, or that certain news outlets have become so rabidly partisan that they’re forced to.

Sadly, I agree on both fronts. Obviously, nobody is questioning the critics of the current administration or their motives for being so ruthless in attacking the president.

If you compare the responses to the shoe bomber (Reid) in 2001 and the underwear bomber of last week, you’ll see a laid back and hands off approach by the Bush administration as well. Likewise, Richard Reid was tried in civilian court and is currently a menace to society in a Colorado supermax prison…yet the cries for this guy to be sent to Gitmo are unrelenting.

At least the RNC and people like Hoekstra are seeing the benefit of this latest attack, as a fund-raising opportunity.
