re: #679 iceweasel
Yeah, it’s bad.
I started a bit of a fight here the other day on an overnight thread simply by agreeing with an exsmoker who said that he struggled after he ate and when drinking.
I said this was a good rationale for supporting (owner or operater initiated) bans on smoking in bars and restaurants— a rationale conservatives could like. Not because “smoking offends others”, but because these are genuinely areas where a ban helps people who want to quit, or who have quit, continue to stay quit.
My opinion only.
My opinion - bars are a place of “sin.” It should be the one place where smoking is allowed. Not a scientific argument, I admit. As an aside, the bartenders I’ve talked to seem to like the bans, for what that’s worth. IW, I’ve been on an unintentional news black out - been unusually busy. Haven’t kept up with politics or posted much here - I bearly know what happened with the Cop/Professor/Obama/beer thing.
