No, it’s a recent injury from a home accident. He can use the wrist just fine, he just has a lot of pain, so they consider surgery to fix that pain elective surgery, since the pain can be controlled with meds.

And surgery is far more expensive than the meds are.

I would recommend going to a regular doctor and seeing if cortisone shots would help.
