That wasn’t what Jimmah was saying. He was asking if my position made it easier for me to put other into it who did not want to be there. I haven’t answered because I didn’t have a coherent answer to give. Now I do:

It does make it easier, and it shouldn’t. When I am certain about something, I tend to forget about other people’s thoughts or feelings. It’s a character flaw, and one I struggle with. Thank you for reminding me, Jimmah.

That said, my main point was that the risk of our troops being brutalized was one that had to be accepted. Ultimately, I think the risk a major terrorist attack is a far greater risk.
