It’s a terrible thing. That’s what’s mostly on my mind, is the devastation to people’s ways of life, people who once had a nice little business who now have nothing, absolutely nothing.

I’d like to see us immediately start creating jobs for the cleanup and giving first priority for those jobs to those who have lost theirs because of the spill. I’d like BP to pony up a very, very large amount to kick this off; if they don’t, I think that the government should and bill BP for it.

Yes - I’d like to see something structured. WPA-style. Let’s get this shit fixed. For what it’s worth, there’s not enough money in BP’s coffers to cover the damage that will be done to businesses.
