McCain and Mike Lee are trying to permanently waive the Jones Act for Puerto Rico.

Is there even any point in having the Jones Act at all today? I mean, I’m sure it’s a boon for my local community, since I live in Long Beach and the port there is one of the busiest in the world, but if international ships could stop there and then move on to San Diego or Seattle, is there a real impact?
