There is a sizable local opposition group, Amarillo citizens against Repent Amarillo.
This claims to have over 700 members, vs. 120 or so for Repent Amarillo and a couple of hundred for RA’s associate gang, Raven Ministries.
The latter is a national movement, btw, with affiliates in a number of cities.

“Repent Amarillo” resembles the Fred Phelps cult in more ways than one. According to the opposition group, the active membership is limited to “one family and 1-2 non-family members along with the husband and wife of another family who attend their events sporadically.” The Phelps is well-documented to be limited to Phelps’s immediate family and a handful of hangers-on.
