Sounds like Collins’ current position is, a doubling the debate time offered by Reid (Reid’s offer was twice as many amendments for the GOP as Dems [10 vs 5] and 2.8x the debate time for GOP amendments [14 vs 5]) and having the taxcuts pass first:

I just don’t see how they’ll have the time to do all that if they’re waiting on the taxcut deal, which I assume, after all the final negotiations and votes, is going end up right near the end of the lame-duck too.

Hopefully it’s just posturing preceding some deal to start debate on the defense appropriations bill tomorrow. =/
