That’s the tact I take. I know that some people aren’t going to want to hear about AGW or that the planet is warming, but they do want cleaner air and don’t want to depend on the Middle East or Venezuela for our power (or Canada) and all the baggage that comes from getting oil from unstable regimes. Going nuclear would result in a clean energy source with the ability to produce prodigious amounts of power on a small footprint compared to wind or solar (one of the major detriments to widespread acceptance). Yet, we’ve got plenty of NIMBY to go around to prevent any action at all.

Something has got to give, and I think the alarmist take and more shrill tone is counterproductive. It just leads people to tune them out as Cassandras (or worse - write ‘em off altogether).
