I just remembered a meeting a few years back where I used to work, where the manager told us how things were going to be scaled back, etc. Instead of just nodding that they understood, several people cheerfully said they were just lucky to have jobs.

/And yeah we were, but isn’t saying that to a boss like rolling over and exposing your belly?
