They’re in disarray, with a lot of infighting, and their radical base is mutinying.

As much as I’d love to enjoy it, I’m worried that their leadership is going to be so paralyzed and ineffective that nothing will pass, not as part of their grand plan but sheer incompetence and lunacy.

At this point, I think Boehner and McConnell are just wanting something — anything — to pass just to avoid a default, political consequences be damned. They might talk a big game, but their recent actions suggest they just want something to pass.
