So Obama is going to get things done by being tough on Israel because George Bush was soft and gave them an ‘easy ride’.

Obama is throwing red meat to his leftist base when he scold the Jews. However, it did not accomplish much:

the two leaders had met privately for about 90 minutes, the President emphasized that Israel must start taking the peace process seriously by putting a halt to the construction of Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories, lifting the blockade on Gaza, and accepting the idea of a Palestinian state next door.

The meeting was scheduled for 1 hour. The fact it went 30 minuted over indicates Obama was having a hard time getting Bibi to co-operate. When they came out to speak to the press it was Obama alone who mentioned settlements, the Gaza blockade and the 2-state solution. Bibi avoided mentioning any of those key terms.

Result: Bibi 1, Obama 0
