I will agree partially with Frum on point #1. I think it’s important to sell this budget comprimise to the wingnuts as a victory. The conservative base instinctively wanted shutdown with no comprimise but that’s not politically viable. If the Republicans have any hope of governing they are going to have to comprimise.
