And out of that three percent, many will actually be able to get better policies at little or no additional expense. Damn I wish healthcare.gov hadn’t been fubar; then we could’ve gotten a lot more stories about people getting insurance they like to counter the stories about the cancellation notices.

The problem is that many of these people, who buy their own insurance, do not know that they had catastrophic insurance or that they were maxed out at $5000 in benefits or whatever. They probably wouldn’t know anything until which time they needed insurance.

I think it is unlikely that many of those 3% of people would know what the difference is between their old and new policy. They solely look at dollars instead of value.
