re: #692 quickjustice
I dunno. “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park” was another of Lehrer’s deeply disturbing songs. And there’s the immortal Lehrer song whose title escapes me:
“About a young maid I’ll sing a song,
sing hickory dickory ding,
about a young maid I’ll sing a song,
who didn’t have her family long.
Not only did she do them wrong—
she did every one of them in.”
I think it was called “Irish Folk Song” or something like that. That one was just funny.
“Her mother she could never stand/
Sing rickety-tickety-tin/
Her mother she could never stand/
And so a cyanide stew she planned.
Her mother dies with the spoon in her hand/
And her face in a hideous grin, a grin
Her face in a hideous grin.”
