Lately, observing Obama, these words seem increasingly prophetic. Obama, fearing to be labeled as an angry black man,
has become a calm, hollow, black appeaser, ready to hand Israel over to Muslim murderers on a silver platter. Well, to correct Eliot, the world will not end with a whimper, at least not with the whimper of a Jew. Israel will fight and defeat the dictator of Iran and won’t need Obama’s OK to do so.

It’s a great poem, but my money goes on Ben Franklin for how the US ends.

Journalist: “Mr. Franklin, what kind of government do we have now?”

Ben Franklin: “A republic, if you can keep it.”
