I suspect that if they thought Trump could win, they wouldn’t be worried. He’s going to pick a justice that Republicans because I bet he really doesn’t care about the court: None of their decisions would really affect him or his family.

This is entirely Clinton with a Democratic congress getting a pick to the left of Garland.

What makes you think Trump would care what Republicans think of his nominee? Honestly, I see something akin to another Harriet Miers nomination, where Trump basically picks one of his personal attorneys, figuring he’ll need him on the Court when he get sued again (I wish I was joking)
