I’m not exactly sure there’s much of an impact here. This is an offshoot of the GM business, but the reality is that the alt-energy vehicles subsidies were getting phased out anyways. In 2008, the US launched electric vehicle subsidies of $7,500, which shrink based on sales. The purchase subsidy phases out once you hit 200,000 vehicles sold, and GM is about to hit that target. Toyota, Nissan and Tesla are also approaching that limit.

At the same time, the subsidies actually caused companies to take this seriously as did consumers.

Trump’s just shitting on everything everyone else did, without a care about the consequences of the actions (same as always).
