What’s not remembered today is Ike had to beat Robert Taft to get nominated by the GOP for president. Robert Taft who is Ron Paul’s hero and a man who derided the Nuremberg Trials as victors justice. There are people today on the right who think Ron Paul style foreign policy is “liberal” but it’s actually a throwback to what many conservatives thought about foreign policy before the Communists emerged as our enemy.
