I’m not afraid of dying so much (since none of us gets out of here alive anyway), what terrifies me is the thought of being incapacitated, dependent on others. *shudder*

That can be very unpleasant. My grandmother got into the high 90s, and was basically bedridden and on meds the last several years of her life. Everything was falling apart, but nothing was going to kill her quickly.
