On a general note, several have suggested that a bonus is not part of the salary but rather is an award for doing well in business. That is only partly true, most corporate executives have compensations that are complex by general salary standards and depend on some sort of a bonus struction in order to recieve what they concider fair pay. Otherwise they would work elsewhere.
