The point is that it wasn’t exactly like those job offers were more prestigious than the chance to be a Senator, so where is the quid pro quo? Bribery is probably the “law” that one would want to avoid when discussing a potential job offer involving government positions but it sure doesn’t look like any of these instances come anywhere close to bribery.
