Yep - everything has come to a grinding halt, and although its a bit more than the predicted 2 inches, it will still seem wimpy to you - but hey, its the UK, what do you expect!

Yeah, I saw and read those articles. Had to stifle a chuckle. Having driven through enough heavy snowfalls this year, and in years previous around Chicagoland and up north (Michigan’s Upper Peninsula), a foot of snow is still quite a bit. However, we usually get right back to work the next day almost as if nothing happened.

IIRC, this winter, we’ve already seen about 50 inches of snow locally, and NW Indiana will get hammered with up to 8 more inches of lake-effect snow tonight and tomorrow.

Global warming, indeed.
