When you download, it should give you an exe or a zip file. Double-click and follow instructions, mostly. If it is a zip file, extract it and look for a Readme or other document. If not, there should be a setup.exe
If no setup.exe, connect the printer and browse to where you extracted the files. You might have to try a few directories until it is happy.
But generally, there is an exe that then gives you instructions. And installs a lot of extra stuff. That should tell you when to reconnect the printer.
