my dad was a hardcore agnostic….nevertheless he smacked me around when I would not take off my cowboy hat when we visited this little church, marched me outside and left me there…he was very strict about these types of protocal and he was all about respect

A point well taken. And in my #615 Walter L. Newton, I point out the same thing. Michelle is showing proper respect to the Pope.

Too bad some of the wacky radical right don’t see it the same way when out politicians are showing respect in following some sort of protocol in other countries, be it Islamic countries or whatever.

Nope, showing proper respect to Christian protocol ok, showing proper respect to Islamic protocols, bad.

Just like we were discussing yesterday, not all of Islam is radical, not all is bad, so, what is wrong with showing respect?
