Crap.

A 92 year old member of our parish tripped and fell going down the stairs to the basement of our church this morning for after service coffee. She was clear and coherent after but couldn’t stand due to pain. We called 911 and the paramedics came and assisted her out of the stairwell and into an ambulance.

I just received word from her daughter that she broke her pelvis in her fall. This is not a good thing, though not quite the death sentence it was even a few years ago.

We’ve been wanting to renovate and put in an elevator to avoid this kind of problem for years but we’re a tiny parish that has no endowment - we’re already $20k short of next years budget.

Anyone know of a charity that would give a tiny church in the middle of fly over several hundred thousand dollars to renovate? /// I wish. We’ll get by, as always.
