I agree with your broader point of course (and setting deliberate forest fires was even used by the communists in Spain back in the late 80s, at the very least). But nitpicking:

there wasn’t ONE NEW TACTIC used against the US and Nato in Iraq and Afganistan that hadn’t already been used against Israel in Lebanon, “Territories,” etc.

What about improvised EFPs? I may be wrong, but I don’t recall them being used before Iraq.

Also, we had ONE big, “new” tactic used on us; hijacked airliners being flown into buildings.
