So, I was at home in the garden over the weekend, and spotted a baby rabbit. I knew that there was a nest under some of the bushes, and had seen them in there a few days ago, so it was neat to see it out of the burrow. However, it didn’t look like it was alive. It was completely still - didn’t look like it was breathing or anything. Since I was watering the lawn at the time, I sprinkled some water to see if it’d react. Nope. Nothing doing. Fearing the worst - I began to move the bushes away to get a closer view, and that’s when it sprinted away.

I’d have to say that’s a pretty good defense mechanism - playing dead isn’t just for possum. Apparently baby rabbits do something similar. They had me fooled, that’s for sure.
