And while we are on the subject, why do these idiots hate democracy? That’s what we are talking about. They want to be able to fight when they don’t like what the elected govt. is doing. Don’t like gay marriage. Abortion. Obamacare. Then get together with your hunting/drinking buddies and start an militia against the govt and liberals. It’s not the treason that pisses me off, it’s the stupidity.

Because of the idealized ‘history’ that they think they know. The hear revolutionary war and think - well, we did for king George when he pissed us off, there’s no difference if the elected government of the U.S. pisses us off.

My British BiL posted an interesting interview of students from other countries and what they thought of the (in their words) War for American Independence; they do not refer to it as a revolutionary war. A large number of countries just note it as a passing part of the overall reformation. Others note it as an example for the French Revolution, which they actually did study. But, by and large, it was just a nominal blip in course of human history.
