How goddamned desperate for one good news cycle do you have to be to needlessly gamble astronaut lives on a mission that essentially boils down to a joy ride? Tech has advanced a lot since Apollo 8, a human presence adds nothing to the scientific value of this flight. It’s purely a publicity stunt and one with an enormous downside if anything goes wrong.
