I forgot that California has a jungle primary.

I can see where conservative voters in large areas of the state would not care for that much (making an argument they can’t even get a candidate on the ballot).

A jungle primary would work opposite here: We’d have a stream of wingnuts running (but still no Democrats).

We’ve already had the Senate election last year see two Democrats advance to the general election. And there’s a very good chance it’ll happen in the governor’s race next year.
