There are anecdotal reports that the French establishment doesn’t like ibuprofen and have shot off their mouths a few times and that’s leaked into the international recommendations.

The US medical establishment doesn’t hate ibuprofen, but they sure do seem to be in love with acetomenifen (gawd I can’t spell that tonight) because every time I’ve been recommended a painkiller in the last decade they freak out when I ask if they mean aspirin or ibuprofen.

All three have good aspects and bad aspects. Take the damn tylenol if you trust your liver, aspirin is safer in large doses if your stomach lining is intact, and ibuprofen is probably the best but the least safe to take too much of.

The point, if you have C19, is to reduce fever. How you get there is less important.
