I’m confused. Is he saying that Obama’s father is an “African socialist” or is he talking about Obama himself?

I’m confused by the “dreams of his son” part. As far as I know, Barack Obama doesn’t have a son.

Still, Mr. D’Souza is using very choppy sentence structure. He’s a terrible writer.
