You did a great job rescuing those eggs. It is possible that two of them were from a prior round and were pushed out of the nest when the second round was laid. Pigeons only lay two eggs at a time and then incubate them. She will sit the eggs for about eighteen days and if they do not hatch, will then lay another round. The male will trade off sitting with her and help her raise the young. They mate for life.
