Now compare with Malkin’s post . She (or someone else) photoshopped out the student’s name on the cross.

Actually, it looks like the photo on Malkin’s site was taken from the Taunton Daily Gazette, which also had the name photo edited out (and poorly at that). It is possible the name was removed to protect the kid’s identity in the early reports (but have since been identified in later ones - as has the full unedited version of the image).

A maxim to live by: When In Doubt - Check The Original Sources.
