I just think the intentions are the important part. In most of these debates, we can go back and forth literally forever citing sources the other side doesn’t accept. Getting to the root cause of peoples beliefs is more important, and (ever so slightly) more likely to have some actual result.

This is especially the case when someone seems to be arguing in bad faith, or with an intention to disrupt.
