No point in engaging in the exercise whatsoever. Obama didn’t seek it - it was bestowed upon him by the committee. It’s absurd, of course, and it might have been interesting had he declined the award, but here we are. If Obama’s supporters wish to triumph in this great accomplishment, who am I to deny them their moment in the sun? He’s in good company, I suppose - Carter, Gore, El Baradei, Arafat. It’s a mixed bag. Best thing to do is to do as Obama did, and sorta shrug it off and politely decline to draw any more attention to their bizarre and clumsy attempt to flatter and manipulate him.
