I also left out natural disasters as well. Do you want to know why? Because there are plenty of forces that wipe out humans in massive numbers. This world could swallow us whole without skipping a beat. A large rock could fall from the sky and erase us without warning. We don’t need religion’s help, the body count is high enough as it is. Discussion? I’m sticking to the point.

Patronization is an unfortunate symptom of a critical loss of clarity.

But let’s get back to it.
1. You need to include non-religious evils to help yourself figure out (not that it appears you could, but one never knows) whether your anecdotes are significant or simply equivalent to the same amount of ills you’d record if you took a random sample of humanity over a similar period.
2. You need to include good that resulted from religion to help yourself figure out what the net total effect might have been.

Doing neither = willfully or ignorantly laying it all at the feet of religion.
