They should care more about the racism in general. But as you just pointed out, they care more about hiding the racism instead of just rejecting it outright.

This guy is right about one thing — the GOP *is* gutless. They’d rather pander to bigots like this guy in order to get votes, but when that bigotry becomes public, they scurry away to try and hide away from it and pretend that it’s not the true face of the GOP.

They can’t reject it - in some parts of the country guys like this ARE the GOP. They can no more reject them than they could reject themselves.

I guarantee nobody was surprised by any of this. Don Yelton didn’t just start talking like that this week. And he wasn’t just a flunky, he was precinct chairman.
