Of course it makes perfect sense if you recall how many other things the modern day GOP throws a shit fit about that Reagan did like: say when the right to form a union was lost so was freedom (GASP!) and raise the debt ceiling (GASP!) raise taxes (GASP and clutch pearls!)

psst! don’t tell them what he said about amnesty for illegal immigrants…

(and OMG don’t even get started on what he did as governor of California — giving 1/3 of the inmates early release to relieve overcrowding and slash the prison budget, signing what was then the most liberal abortion law in the nation…)
