not disagreeing, but I’ve got a soft spot for some of the lesser-known but still excellent aircraft of WWII. The P-47N is also on that list for me. the Soviet YAK-3 as well.

The Yakovlevs, the Sturmovik, the T-34 & Detroit 2 1/2 ton trucks saved the Soviets from the Nazi’s.
