Jobs. It’s okay when the job producers do it, but bad when the government does it. That’s the logic, even though government spending can produce job growth (spending on bridge and road construction for instance can bring jobs in construction, manufacturing and retail in and around the area of construction for instance, plus long term benefits from more efficient transportation flow).

Except that the current employment picture shows private sector job growth, and the current unemployment rates are due in part to a reduction in the government jobs available (fed/state/local) due to budget constriction.
