Reminds me of a TV show I saw years ago…some kind of Twilight Zone knock-off…anyway, the plot involved a married couple, expecting their first child and in serious financial trouble. They were given a device with a single button, the pressing of which would result in two things:

1) They’d get a million dollars
2) Someone they didn’t know would die

After much consternation and rationalizing, the couple pushed the button. As promised, they got the money…and a few months later, the woman miscarried.
