His crimes continued right into the 21st century, the latest uncovered by Operation Yewtree was in 2009. The evidence was there much earlier and many, many others were prosecuted for the same categories of crime during those periods. It was common knowledge in celebrity circles, though few knew the real extent. The bastards covered for him because he was famous and brought in a lot of money.
