I appreciate the levity, but can you remember the last time a politician actually conveyed that message: The Buck stops here. Some of Bush’s admin blamed Clinton, Much of Obama’s message has been tailored to push the fact that it’s an “inherited” mess. I think I’d sell my cow for 3 magic beans, if a politician said ahead of getting elected (think 2012 or 2016): “yes my opponent/incumbent/etc has made mistakes, but as soon as I take office, it will be my mess. I go into this office knowing what it will take, and as soon as I’m sworn in, I will be responsible for the actions from that date on.” I think I might faint if I heard that.
