re: #746 Iron Fist

I had some friends, years ago, who underwent fertility treatments so that they could have a kid of their own. The wife had two or three kids from a previous (very young) marriage. She also had multiple successful implants from the one procedure. They made the decision to selectively abort, and I can certainly see the reasons for it. But I also know that it wasn’t a step that was taken lightly, and I could understand if they had made a different decision.

OR had a comment on that earlier this week. To many on the Left, they are only “pro-choice” when the woman makes the “right” choice and has an abortion. Which really makes them pro-abortion. We saw the same thing focused on Sarah Palin during the election. She chose to have a Down Syndrome baby instead of abortion, and they acted as though she had committed an unspeakable atrocity against man and God.

Were I a person with a handicap (and I kind of am with the diabetes), I would look on that with a mixture of fear and disgust. Who are they to make the decision of who is, and who isn’t, fit to live?

It makes me very concerned about what will happen with my severely disabled son as we move forward. If he ends up in the hospital, we may not be allowed to make the choice. I’m not sure where Illinois law stands, but Texas law was very clear in this regard.
