Vintage cars are green. Production of a car requires about as much fossil energy as it will burn in its normal lifetime. My 1973 truck has prevented the production of about five replacement trucks.

Huh? any data for that claim? I know it takes about $100 worth of electricity and natural gas to assemble a car or truck. Some more for the parts that go into it. Saying it takes as much energy to build as it will burn it its lifetime is off base by orders of magnitude.
