We go to Morrow Bay once a year & love to watch them!

There are river otter, I believe.

I only ever see them when we go to Monterey Bay. They’re wonderful animals.

Not otter related, but one of the most interesting things I ever saw at Monterey was about ten years ago—the sea lions were migrating, and a giant bunch of adolescent males somehow got dropped off at Monterey Bay. They lingered. In huge quantities. It was like Spring Break for sea lions. They were sinking boats. They were sitting under trees. They went up to the freeway, and had to be scooted back off by Animal Control and the Highway Patrol.

I felt lousy for the fishermen, but it was fascinating to see.
