So your objection is that the energy you lost on the special path would actually be used for something useful, and you’re against that?

Any energy sapped beyond what I’d otherwise expend by walking, I’d consider stolen, yes. Might as well put people on treadmills and hook them up to the power grid. That would just as ethical but more honest.
