re: #745 SteveC

*sigh* saw a blog this morning begging people to not get the Swine Flu vaccine. Closed the link when I paged down and saw a video of Dr. Ron Paul giving reasons why we should avoid the vaccine.

The crazy, it burns!

I personally already had swine flu (so I will not get the vaccine). I am also perfectly fine right now! In any case, I don’t know if flu vaccines are considered the most effective sort of vaccine, as they really only vaccinate against some strains of the flu, and it is essentially a prediction of what researchers believe the flu will be.

But I am not against all vaccines in general, and I find the science ‘proving’ how unsafe the vaccines are to be very lacking. I am sadly not shocked Ron Paul has latched onto this.

On a side note, I was watching CNN the other night, and saw Ron Paul on TV speaking against Obamacare. The commentators on Larry King included Ron Paul, some random dude, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta (who was nominated to be surgeon general). At no point in time did Dr. Gupta’s affiliation with Obama appear on screen. It was really quite pathetic. Even more pathetic is that Ron Paul was legitimized, as he actually made sense (in that limited context), compared to the other two individuals.

That is very dangerous, Ron Paul is not fully crazy, he is half-crazy. Some of his ideas even make sense. We have to acknowledge that this makes him more effective and dangerous, and gives him a broader audience.
